No Dia Internacional da Mulher, tive o prazer de assistir ao evento Embrace Equity, organizado pela PwC Luxemburgo e pela AMCHAM. Tem sido uma tradi\u00e7\u00e3o para mim h\u00e1 mais de uma d\u00e9cada, e uma que tenho todo o gosto em manter agora como participante externa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

O painel foi incr\u00edvel, e todos os oradores inspiraram-me e tocaram-me profundamente.<\/p>

As discuss\u00f5es durante a apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o e o almo\u00e7o de networking puseram-me a pensar na import\u00e2ncia dos modelos de refer\u00eancia na moldagem do nosso campo de possibilidades percebido e, consequentemente, das nossas escolhas individuais. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
  • \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSomos moldados pela cultura em que vivemos, por aquilo que observamos em casa, nas nossas comunidades, nos meios de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e na sociedade em geral. Mais frequentemente do que n\u00e3o, este processo \u00e9 inconsciente, estamos imersos nele e consideramo-lo garantido. \u00c9 necess\u00e1rio um esfor\u00e7o consciente para estarmos cientes dos nossos preconceitos e da forma como a cultura em que fomos criados molda as nossas cren\u00e7as, padr\u00f5es de pensamento e aquilo que sentimos ser \u201co normal\u201d.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Enquanto crian\u00e7as, adolescentes e at\u00e9 mesmo adultos, tendemos a projetar-nos nos pap\u00e9is ocupados pelos nossos pares, ou pelas pessoas que percecionamos como sendo \u201ccomo n\u00f3s\u201d.<\/strong> Portanto, se eu crescer a ver pessoas que se parecem comigo, falam como eu e agem como eu a ser professores, advogados e secret\u00e1rios, n\u00e3o terei dificuldade em projetar-me nessas profiss\u00f5es. \u00c9 preciso um voo de imagina\u00e7\u00e3o para me projetar a ser mec\u00e2nico, canalizador ou piloto de avi\u00e3o, se nunca vi ningu\u00e9m \u201ccomo eu\u201d nesses pap\u00e9is.<\/p>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    E assim, os pap\u00e9is de g\u00e9nero tradicionalmente atribu\u00eddos perpetuam-se. N\u00e3o por falta de compet\u00eancias ou por falta de op\u00e7\u00f5es e escolhas, mas em primeiro lugar por falta de imagina\u00e7\u00e3o e de modelos de refer\u00eancia prontamente dispon\u00edveis.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    • \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTrazer \u00e0 luz, dizer em voz alta e demonstrar abertamente que todos os g\u00e9neros podem escolher ocupar todos os pap\u00e9is e profiss\u00f5es \u00e9 o primeiro passo para abrir o campo de possibilidades para que os jovens possam, a s\u00e9rio e verdadeiramente, escolher o seu caminho.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      \u00c9 tamb\u00e9m minha convic\u00e7\u00e3o pessoal que enquadrar isto como \u201cempoderar as mulheres\u201d \u00e9 redutor. Os homens tamb\u00e9m s\u00e3o colocados em caixas. Os homens tamb\u00e9m s\u00e3o discriminados e diminu\u00eddos quando ousam abra\u00e7ar os pap\u00e9is que tradicionalmente n\u00e3o lhes \u201cpertencem\u201d: cuidadores, enfermeiros, enfermeiros-parteiros, pais a tempo inteiro em casa, e a lista continua...<\/p>

      \u00a0<\/p>

      Para que uma sociedade seja verdadeiramente justa, verdadeiramente inclusiva e para que se alcance uma equidade real, precisamos de trazer todos para a mesa. Seja a mesa do conselho de administra\u00e7\u00e3o ou a mesa de muda de fraldas!<\/p>
